Free first day of school sign printables
The first day of kindergarten is fast approaching for my 5 year old son. One and a half more weeks to go. I’m excited and anxious for the new school year. It means new friends, new teachers, and longer school days. Here’s hoping my son will adjust smoothly this year.
First day of school signs are so cute to make that I basically made 4 different designs for you. I might have gone overboard by making so many, but it was fun to design them. It might be little bit late for some of you whose kids apparently started school at the beginning of August, but I promise to send it out in way early, like June, next year! If you know someone whose kid will start school in September, please share this with them!
The signs are from Pre-k to 12th grade. I could have stopped at 6th grade, but I figured maybe some of you moms like to torture your kids and share these pictures on their wedding day! Check out these free first day of school signs and tell me which is your favorite!

1. What better way to get to school than by floating there with balloons!
2. Too cool for school with the hot pink and the hand-drawn black and white texture.
These printables can be printed on copy paper and then put into a simple $1 store frame for a beautiful first day of school picture. If you don’t want to frame, I highly recommend printing it onto cardstock so that it’s sturdier to hold upright. My favorite cardstock is from Neenah. You can get them at office supply stores, like Staples or on Amazon (affiliate link).
3. For a very shabby chic first day of school.

Here are some really cool ones from other mommy bloggers.
1. First day of school signs via The Suburban Mom.
Love the lined red and blue primary paper background and the black chalk like wording.
2. First Day of School signs via Paper Trail Designs.
This one is simple. Doesn’t use any of your color ink thus cheap to print and doesn’t have the year so you can just use the same design for all the school year.
3. First day of school signs via Today’s Creative Life.
This first day of school flag is great for your older kids because I think we can imagine taking pictures like this when our kids get older.
4. First Day of School Signs via Simple Everyday Mom.
I’m not sure which one I will use for my son, but I’m gearing towards the black and white with the hot pink words. Love that 80’s vibe! Which one are you going to use? Have a wonderful day.
