Did your kid go back to school virtually or will they start in September like my kids?
Our school district is deciding to do virtual for the first two months. Then based on recommendations from doctors and the CDC as well as how the nation as a whole is doing, they will decide either to continue virtual learning or incorporate some hybrid form of learning.
It’s so hard to say what will happen. But what will definitely happen is your child will have a first day of school, however way they will go back.
I created these First Day of School signs for kids going back to in person learning so today I’m giving you all online-learning First Day of School signs.
I created one then went crazy and created 2 more so you can have lots of options to choose from.

Are your kids back to school yet? Are they doing full school, online learning, or homeschooling?
Whichever you choose, why not make the first day of learning fun with these cute and colorful school-themed alphabet banner.
I’ve created several DIY school-themed free printable banner letters for you to choose from. They are so colorful and fun to look at. I’ve created banners for students and teachers.
BACK TO SCHOOL Banner
Each flag is 5×7 inches. There are two letters on one page.
You can download the letters and graphics one at a time or you can download the whole alphabet and graphics as one PDF file. Depending on your computer, the latter might take longer to download onto your computer.
This banner is for arts and crafts teacher or for your kid’s art and crafts room. It’s the same rainbow color alphabet with the crayons and paint palette buntngs.
These letters could be used for any other occasions! It doesn’t have to be just for back to school or teacher’s classrooms.
You can use them for birthday parties.
Spell out your kid’s name and hang it up in their room.
You can use it to use on the first day of school especially when you have a kid that hates holding up those first day of school sign. For those kids, you just need to make a banner saying, “First Grade”, “Kindergarten”, etc. then have them stand anywhere close to that banner!
My son will be turning 8 this November, but celebrating it will be a little bit different this year! As I am sure it will be for you!
Safety is the most important thing right now when planning any kind of celebration. We can still give our kids the best birthday party ever in a different way through the birthday car parade or the Drive-by Parade while following social distancing guidelines.
If you haven’t heard, due to the Coronavirus pandemic it’s 2020’s new trend! A drive-by or car parade is when people drive by the birthday girl or boy’s house, honk their horn, wave, and cheer to give her good wishes.
Birthday car parades are very common now. My neighbor just had one for her 4-year-old. The cars were lining around the corner from her house. With a mask on, she decorated all the guests’ cars with balloons. When the time came, you can hear lots of happy cheers and honky in the neighborhood. The birthday girl was ecstatic, to say the least.
My friend had a birthday car parade for her 8-year-old and her kid said it was the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! She normally celebrates her birthday with all her classmates and friends in a party place. Proof that you can have a great memorable party with fewer people.
Having a birthday car parade is great for mom as well. It involves less planning. You only need to:
1. Invite the guests, which you can do with a virtual invite.
2. Decorate the outside of your house with a sign or balloons.
3. Give out a party favor, but not necessary.
If you’re like me and like simple birthday party decorations then these are the only things you need for an awesome birthday car parade.
THE YARD SIGN
EDITABLE YARD SIGN CAN BE PERSONALIZED FOR ALL OCCASIONS, NOT JUST BIRTHDAYS.
Let everyone in the neighborhood know that it’s her birthday! She’ll be so excited as neighbors and strangers honk and wish her a happy birthday!
Send your family and friends invitations to drive for some honking, shouting, and cheering for the birthday girl. To save money and paper you can send out e-vites instead of physical invitations.
Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your house for the birthday girl. Hang up a birthday banner with a numbered balloon or paper party fans (my favorite party decorations, besides banners!!). You can also hang this on the outside of your front door.
Thank your guests for stopping by with some party favors and attached gift tags to them. You can either hand it to your guests while wearing your mask and/or place the party favor in their back trunk to limit contact.

CUPCAKES/INDIVIDUAL DESSERTS
Instead of having a big cake this year, why not celebrate with individual cupcakes or other desserts, such as macaroons, that you can box and give to guests as party favors.
FREE CAR CUPCAKE TOPPERS
You can download this free party favor gift tag for your next car parade party. Just print it out, have the birthday girl sign them, and stick them onto your cupcake or other desserts with a toothpick and tape. You can also print these onto sticker paper and attached them to gift boxes or bags.
