This Valentine’s Day Mystery Mad Lib is a simple, fun activity that gets kids thinking, laughing, and creating their own silly story. They fill in the blanks with different types of words, then read the story to see how it turns out. The surprise ending is always different. And always funny.

Supplies

You only need a few simple things:

• 1 Valentine’s Day Mystery Mad Lib story page (download at the end of this post)
• Easy fill-in-the-blank format
• A Word Helper Guide with examples for each type of word.

How to Set up

1. Download the printable file.
2. Open the PDF on your computer.
3. Print on standard 8.5″ x 11 paper.
4. Use regular printer paper for easy classroom copies, or cardstock for a sturdier party version.

How to Play

1. Give each child one Mad Lib page.
2. Have them fill in the blanks using the Word Helper Guide or their own ideas.
3. Remind them not to read the full story yet. Just fill in the words.
4. Once all the blanks are filled, read the story from the beginning out loud.

This is a low-prep Valentine activity that’s easy to print, easy to use, and full of giggles.
